Over $1.7 million dollars distributed

Through the fund, Sandpipers continue important and much-needed initiatives that help more people in more ways in an effort to achieve the following goals:

  • Encourage and expand philanthropic outreach in the South Bay

  • Ensure the continuation and growth of Sandpipers’ core programs and community commitment by providing funding that is stable and predictable

  • Provide donors a means of expressing their community concern by leaving a special legacy of charitable support that will exist in perpetuity

The fund’s purpose is to dramatically increase the breadth and depth of Sandpipers’ assistance to individuals, families, community and educational causes, and nonprofit organizations in the local community. Donations to this fund are invested so that grants may be made from the fund’s annual investment income.

The fund increases through both capital appreciation and continued donations. As the principal grows, so does the interest income, producing a philanthropic wellspring from which to nurture our community.
