Debbie Walmer Scholarship Fund
Debbie Walmer was a valued member of Sandpipers for almost 50 years. She was President in 1977, Sandpiper of the Year in 1985, and a founding member and chairman of The Design House, which has evolved into today’s Holiday Homes Tour.
In October 2020, Debbie passed away, and her friends from her many years in Sandpipers got to work right away and started the scholarship in 2021 to honor Debbie’s legacy. The generous support from so many friends and donors enabled the Debbie Walmer Athletic Scholarship in record time - a true testament to Debbie’s impact on others and the community.
Debbie was a fan of all sports, especially volleyball. She traveled around the country cheering on her children and then grandchildren, with their volleyball, soccer, football, and rugby matches. Therefore, the Debbie Walmer Athletic Scholarship will honor and aid students who are well-rounded academically and are involved in sports.
The Walmer Family would like to honor students with a scholarship for their athletic and academic achievement in Debbie’s memory.
