Gigi O’Malley
Membership VP
As a South Bay native, I’ve always held volunteerism and philanthropic work dear to my heart.
I was part of the Knights & Diaconians at Hawthorne High School, which is a community service-based club and I longed for something similar as an adult. I attended a Holiday Homes Tour event with some friends in 2013 and immediately reached out to inquire how I could join this amazing organization. In May 2014, I attended the Prospective Member event and was immediately won over by all the incredible work Sandpipers does within the community and joined that year. I have had the most incredible experience since joining the organization. From delivering holiday baskets to families in need, to collecting 1700 toys for children in the LA Foster system, to making sack lunches for the homeless or delivering a hot meal to a domestic violence shelter. Every experience has filled my heart knowing I’m helping to make a difference in someone’s life.
I’ve had the opportunity to participate in the Auction Committee, Co-Chaired the Sugarplum Committee two consecutive years, Co-Chaired Holiday Baskets, was a member of NLD (Nomination and Leadership Development), Directory Chair, Assistant to Membership VP for the amazing class of 2020, who showed amazing resilience and spirit to continue volunteering and providing much-needed community service at the beginning of a worldwide pandemic. I've also held numerous positions on the board, including Director of Operations, Philanthropy VP, Administrative VP/Secretary and currently holding the position of Membership Vice President.
I’m honored to have been selected as this year’s Membership Vice President for the class of 2024 and I am looking forward to continuing the amazing philanthropic work we Sandpipers do to help those in need in the South Bay.
