Originally from Richmond, Virginia, I’ve been lucky to call Southern California home for the past 22 years where I live with my husband, our two teenagers, and stacks of books that may or may not qualify as a fire hazard. Professionally, I am a speech-language pathologist and run my own speech therapy practice in Redondo Beach. Personally, I’m an avid reader with a not-so-secret obsession with romance novels. Last year, I read 167 books and I’m already on track to beat that number. If you ever need a book recommendation, I’m your girl. If you need to bride me, I have never turned down chocolate or anything pink. (My wedding dress was pink!)

I believe in the power of storytelling. Stories connect us. They build bridges between experiences and teach us to show up for one another. That’s why I decided to join Sandpipers. I’m dedicated to showing up to make a difference and I’m grateful to do so alongside others who care just as deeply.

I am immensely honored to be part of the Sandpipers board this year. I believe in building communities where families are supported, women are empowered, and children thrive. I believe in helping people feel seen and supported whether that’s a child in speech therapy learning to say “banana” or a family in need receiving resources that make life a little easier. Everyone deserves someone in their corner and if I can be that person, count me in.
