Sandpipers’ 94th Co-President
Since 2012, Sandpipers has held an important place in both my life and my heart. This incredible organization has given me the structure and opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community I call home. It is a true honor to serve as Co-President alongside Micall Weinberg—a friend and leader I deeply respect—and I am continually inspired by the capable and generous group of leaders who make up our organization. Giving back has always been part of my DNA. I was raised with the belief that we must help others get a leg up in the world, a value instilled by my grandmother, a trailblazer in the nonprofit space. Today, as a mother of two boys, it’s important to me to model what it means to contribute to something larger than ourselves. Professionally, I’m fortunate to bring a background in corporate consumer marketing, sales, and planning to my work with Sandpipers. My entrepreneurial life as a voiceover actor and marketing consultant gives me the flexibility to pour my passion into this organization—and there’s never a dull moment (which I love!). This year, I plan to draw on my Sandpipers experience across fundraising, finance, philanthropy, marketing, and technology to support our efforts. I’m especially passionate about our organization’s rich history and the legacy of the many amazing women who came before us, and that we continue to build together. So many stories to tell since 1931 as we sift through our archives.
Of all the wonderful memories I’ve made through Sandpipers, one of my favorites is from my time on the Philanthropy Committee, when I created our Back to School Shopping Day. Watching kids from local agencies shop with Sandpipers volunteers—with smiles stretching ear to ear—was unforgettable. They walked out with bags of new clothes, backpacks full of supplies, and hearts full of joy. Some even used their own allocations to buy gifts for their siblings. That generosity and gratitude left a lasting impression on me and reminds me who we do all of this for. It was, and still is, priceless.
