Sandpipers' Fundraising Events
2007 - 2008
Sandpipers hosts 3 major fundraising events through out the year: Holiday Homes Tour, Fashion Show and For Our Children - Wine and Food Festival. Last year we were able to raise approximately $320,000 for our South Bay Community. The money we raise from these events is put right back into the community though various channels like our Emergency Case Work, Scholarship Program and Holiday Baskets.
Holiday Homes Tour is our largest fundraising event of the year. Our entire membership comes together to help over a 3-day weekend in December. Three homes are selected to be on the tour and then under go being decorated by local designers. The homes offer a variety of decorating styles and will be sure to offer unique ideas for you to try at home. After touring the homes, visit the Holiday Boutique and Cafe for lunch and shopping. You will find unique jewelry, accessories, note cards, clothing and children's wear. Be sure to bring your holiday shopping list. Holiday Homes Tour Tickets are $20 pre-sale or $25 at the door. We hope to see you on the tour in 2008.
On March 9, 2008, Sandpipers hosted our 16th Annual Fashion Show from the Langham Huntington Hotel & Spa in Pasadena. The Fashion Show was an excellent event for girlfriends, mothers, and daughters to spend the day together enjoying the fashion, luncheon and shopping. Additionally, both Live and Silent Auction items were offered this year including trips, jewelry, beauty items and much more. Attendees visited the boutique where approximately 28 vendors bring in their goods for purchase. There's something for everyone; purses, jewelry, stationery goods, delicious chocolate candies to indulge in and much, much more.
Every year the show offers an exciting fashion designer. In previous years, Sandpipers has been fortunate enough to work with Maria Blanca Nero, Tina Turk, BCBG and St. John. This year we were pleased to present 3 designers - Diane's Beachwear, Little Black Dress and Ishii New York. For more information on Fashion show contact springevents@sandpipers.org.
On April 27, 2008, Sandpipers joined forces with the Little Company of Mary Health Foundation for an afternoon of food and wine at the 23rd Annual "For Our Children" event . Guests feasted on fabulous food specialties, sipped fine wine and sampled tasty beers. They enjoyed the best that California has to offer with over 100 of the finest restaurants, wineries and breweries represented. The fabulous silent and live auctions featured unique gift items, sports tickets and memorabilia, golf getaways, dining, entertainment and spa certificates and exciting travel packages. This year's event offered a chance to win a 2008 Acura MDX. Only 750 tickets were being sold to win this beautiful car. Proceeds benefited Little Company of Mary Healthy Kids Mobile Pediatric Van and Sandpipers charities.
