This is my seventh year in Sandpipers and I have truly enjoyed interacting with all of the wonderful members who share my passion for giving back to the South Bay community. My experience to date includes chairing Auction, Fashion Show and Founders’ Day. I have also served on the Board as Director of the South Bay Community Fund and as Planning & Placement Vice President. This year I will work closely with President Laura Grabher to support her endeavors while I learn more about leading this amazing organization in preparation for next year.

I'm thrilled to be joining the Board, especially in the role of Philanthropy Vice-President. One of the things that first drew me to Sandpipers was realizing what an impact our organization has on improving life for the most vulnerable in the South Bay. I love the fact that we have direct interaction with the community and leverage our efforts by supporting so many agencies.
I joined Sandpipers in 2007, co-chaired Holiday Homes Tour my second year and Employee-Giving my third. I’ve had a wonderful time sampling the range of our activities, from Back to School to Done in a Day. And I've really enjoyed the camaraderie and friendships I’ve formed along the way.
I’m looking forward this year to learning a lot and to helping our philanthropy efforts run smoothly -- all in the company of some great women.

I am so honored to be a part of the board this year as the Sandpipers Membership Vice President. As a fifth year member, I have grown up surrounded by this group of amazing women who do so much for our community and one another, as my mother joined the organization the year that I was born (President in 1984). I enjoy every aspect of Sandpipers, from working the Sugarplum Tree in the mall and Summer Arts, to chairing the wonderful Auction committee and serving as Secretary/Presidential Assistant. Last year, as Philanthropy Vice President, I had the most amazing experience. It has all been so rewarding, and fun! I am looking forward to this year and steering our new members through the wonderful opportunities that Sandpipers presents.

I am so excited to begin my third year in Sandpipers on the Board as Vice-President of fundraising. I am so honored to be a part of a group of amazing women who share the same philanthropic passion. I have enjoyed being a part of both the Fundraising side as Holiday Home Tour Co-Chair, and on Fundraising Financial Committee as well as the Philanthropy side with back to school shopping, and both Holiday and Spring baskets. My love for Sandpipers and the impact it makes in our community must be rubbing off as my oldest daughter is now serving on the Board of Sandpiper Juniors. I look forward to working with more amazing ladies to make our events both fun and successful so that more monies are available to help our wonderful community.

I am so thrilled to be a part of the Executive Board as Operations Vice President this year, my fourth year in Sandpipers. I have known of Sandpipers and the extraordinary work they do in the South Bay Community for many years. I grew up in Redondo Beach and attended South Torrance High School. My senior year I was selected for a Sandpipers College Scholarship. That helping hand brought me to where I am today and I am so grateful to now call myself a Sandpiper. I look forward to a fun and fulfilling year working with this wonderful group of women and “paying it forward” in our community.

Sandpipers has been a wonderful organization to be involved with! Over the past seven years I have chaired the For Our Children Food & Wine Festival, assisted the VP of Finance, held the board positions of Director of South Bay Community Fund, and VP of Membership. It is truly amazing to see what a group of women can do together and the difference we can make in our community! As VP of Planning & Placement this year, my role is to evaluate the programs and organizational structure of Sandpipers. This is a great opportunity to interact with the wonderful women who share my passion for giving back to the South Bay community. As an all-volunteer organization, Sandpipers would not be able to accomplish anything without the dedication and commitment of our amazing members.

The 2010-2011 year will be my tenth year as a Sandpiper. I am honored to have the role of Finance VP, the financial custodian of our wonderful organization, this year. I am continually amazed by all of the work that our members and partners do, ultimately in support of those in need in our community. My past positions in Sandpipers include Ads and Programs Co-Chair, Summer Arts Co-Chair, Operations Database Chair, NLD Committee Member and Director of Community Service. Sandpipers does so many meaningful things, both large and small for our community, and I look forward to continuing its wonderful traditions.

I
I joined Sandpipers in 2006 and was instantly impressed with the women of the organization and the amount of money raised for the community. I enjoyed participating in the fundraising side of the organization through Auction and Fashion Show committees and then was able to experience "giving back" with Community Outreach and Summer Arts. This year's Board is full of amazing women, and I'm looking forward to my Secretary/Presidential Assistant position.
